Tatum was one of my all-time favorite players and I tried to play his style of football. I read his book, They Call Me Assassin. He had a technique he used called the Groundhog, where he would wait until the player jumped up to catch the ball, then cut his legs out from underneath him................I practiced that move on my helpless teammates in practice and it worked very well. I never considered him a dirty player, just because he paralyzed Stingley. He just played a very physical style of football, like the game was meant to be played. For the record, the hit on Darryl Stingley was a clean hit.

Time to start McBath and Barrett............Cut Hill and save Dawkins for one more season as insurance. We have some very good young Safeties and it's time we think about keeping these guys over the aging Safety tandem that started last season.

Tatum was a clean player, he was just physical, playing a physical game. He got a bad and undeserved wrap from the Stingley hit and it had a very nagative affect on his reputation.

Clean hit, all the way.............I think the big deal came from Tatum not apologizing for it.
